NHS to be able to refuse treatment to racist or sexist patients

Well, this is certainly a welcome development. At the moment NHS staff can only refuse treatment on the grounds of physical or verbal aggression towards crews. Under new powers they will soon be able to refuse non-critical treatment to patients who display any forms of harassment, bullying or discrimination, including homophobic, sexist or racist remarks.
This news comes in response to the 2019 staff survey where thousands of staff felt (1 in 7) have been physically attacked and the worst groups were ambulance and mental health staff.
